About Me

Welcome to my blog. My name is Lynne Kontou, I live with my husband Nicky in Livingston, Scotland.

During my school years I focused all my educational persuits on leaving school to 'do something with art'. However, life is never straight forward and despite earning a place at art college decided to stay at home and defer for a year.  That year never ended and I ended up working for The National Library of Scotland for 19 years. After leaving the library I never really settled.

Over the years my artistic abilities manefested into re decorating my beautiful home time and time again...I owe my intoroduction to the card making world to a new friend Sandra, who gave me guidance and advice in a scrapbook I was making. She naively took me to a craft show at the SECC last October and I was hooked.

I am very lucky as I currently do not have a full time job, as crafting seems to have taken over my life (and the garden). For my birthday in Dec 2012 my fabulous hubby bought me a summer house which I have loveling converted into my crafting home.

At the end of January with the encouregement of my hubby and friends I created a facebook page as an outlet to sell my cards and the response has been more than I could ever have imagined.

I entered my first card making competition in February 2013 and to my amazement I won 1st prize and my winning card has been on display in the shop that hosted the competition, Craft World (Glasgow). It will also be on display at the Creative Stitches and Hobby Crafts Show, 7th - 10th March 2013.

When I look back over the last 4/5 months I cannot believe how much my life has changed...and all for the better. It's only taken me 23 years to get my act together, but better late than never.

I am proud to say I was a Design Team Member for Die'sire, Crafter's Companion.

Yes I am a novice when it comes to card making but my training during my school years has come in very useful and I have suprised myself at how quickly I have picked up the techniques, but love that everyday you learn something new. I'm still experimenting and finding new techniques and styles daily and love anything vintage and shabby...a bit like me.
My other interests (when I'm not crafting) includes shopping, decorating and spending time my hubby.

I am just about to start the biggest adventure of my life, I am having some crafty respite as I will be moving to Cyprus in Jan 2014. Once I have settled into my new home I will get back into my crafting. Going to have lots of fun making my new house a home first.
